PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE (1959) Kicks-off Ed Wood Memorial Statue Kick-Starter Campaign  Friday, October 11th at the Bardavon theater in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Ed Wood was born and raised in Poughkeepsie and worked as an usher at the Bardavon in the late1930s!

Join them for an evening of camp classic Sci-fi-horror as they screen what has been voted the worst movie ever made, yet has remained the endearing experience of good intentions over talent. Come in 1950’s sci-fi inspired costume and help create a memorable event Ed Wood style!

Ticket holders are invited to a pre-screening meet and greet in the Bardavon lobby at 7:30pm with Vampira (Bailey Jay) and Tor (Kevin Barry) and Ghoul a Go Go, who will have signed items for sale, with proceeds going to the Ed Wood Statue Fund.

The evening will also include a screening of the short film Dragzilla by New York City

based director Lola Rock ‘N’ Rolla, who will join a post-film panel that includes Joe Netherworld, of Weird Poughkeepsie, who has launched a fundraising campaign to erect a life size statue of the famous Poughkeepsie native son. After a small article in the Poughkeepsie Journal about Ed Wood (by Tony Musso) went viral the project was announced and has been gathering momentum ever since. Panelists will also include the statue’s sculptor Patrick Pigott, along with Bailey Jay and Kevin Barry. They will discuss the inspiration Ed Wood has had on their lives and careers.

All seats are just $10 and are general admission and net proceeds will be donated to the Ed Wood Statue fund. Tickets are available at Bardavon Box Office, 35 Market Street, Poughkeepsie, 845.473.2072, or through Ticketmaster at 800.745.3000 or www.ticketmaster.com.
